“Bodegas Castillejo de Robledo” was founded in 1998.
It is one of the youngest cellars within the Designation of Origin
Ribera del Duero. Its first elaboration was made in 1999, but the
project already started 15 years before, the moment that they programmed
the restructuring of the vineyards.
The Cellar is situated in Castillejo de Robledo on a hillside
where they preserve the antique wine press rooms and cellars digged
out in the hill. All this is a testimony of the tradition of wine
making in this region and his people.
The total constructed superficies are 2.00 square metres and the
actual elaboration capacity is 600.000 kilos of grapes, with deposit
capacity for 750.000 litres, a park with 700 casks, 60% American
oak and 40% French oak.
The vineyards
The grapes come from the vineyards of the members, situated on
the northern hill side that extends until the “Duero”,
direction the convent of the Vid.
The grape variety is 100% “tinta del país”.
The cellar executes sanitarian and cultural controls during the
whole vegetative cycle in order to guarantee the quality and uniformity
of the raw material.
